O victoriae from Ghizo= western province Solomon (I have been there) is the subspecie "rubianus" and the form ghizoensis is described on Haugum and Low book as a form of female. This specimen seems a ssp victoriae

Dear Olivier and "cardon"
You can see the 3 films (only french version) on=
www.canal-u.tv/video/cerimes/chasseurs_de_papillons.13521 I was personaly implicated because I have organized this trip in 1995. The team of th croesus movie is the same except me and the film director Mr Gerald Calderon who have made several other films on the wildlife as "attaville" and "origine ocean" at "la Geode" Kindly Jacques

Dear Olivier On your mail, the picture of of the male ornithoptera alexandrae, is very similar to mine. It seems captured and also prepared by AS Meek himself. Can you give me some information (pedigree) of it, because I cannot read the label on the picture. For my personal specimen it seems the label is printed by perhaps LeMoult who bought thjs specimen to President Laniel and to A Vadon who have a small entomologic shop...and finally me. The specificity of the Meek preparation is the front legs parallel to antennas.
You can see the picture of my male specimen on the wonderful book from G.Delisle & JP SCLAVO Bien amicalement
