Try hot glue. It can seal yet allows you to peel it off if needed.

Years ago I went to one of my favorite spots to collect as I do every summer in the shrublands of western Colorado. On this particular trip in early June, I was at the right place at the right time. The river had overflowed its banks days or weeks before and then subsided a bit, leaving a lot of mud along the banks. On the mud were 1000's, and I mean 1000's!!! of swallowtails. Papilio multicaudata, Papilio eurymedon, Papilio zelicaon, and Papilio rutulus were everywhere. Due to a burst of very cold temperatures at night as well, yield two crazy aberration P. rutulus males I collected. I still kick myself for not combing through the mudding individuals more looking for other aberrations. Truly an amazing day of collecting.

The " Parides" is Papilio chiansiades chiansiades Adam. Thank you Sir! What is the diagnostic character(s) that distinguish Parides from Papilio (Heraclides)? They all seem to blend in together for me in South America. To me, Parides hindwing shape helps to separate them, but in some cases not. What do you think?

No experts out there? What a bummer. I hate having unidentified Leps.

The boards image attachment is now not working for some reason. Now, you have to post your picture on an image sharing site and link it to your post here. Yes, I know, a total pain in the ass.

I'm sure the other guys are more helpful, but they both look like menatius to me, but this species has confused me a lot. It is listed under Pterourus on the Swallowtails.net site, but that species is not listed at all in the Butterflies of America website...

Flores: Euploea spp. 8. Ambon: Euploea spp. 9. Java: Same Euploea as 3 and 6? Thanks for your help!
