I have been making displays for insects inside shadowboxes (to hang on the wall).
I have been sealing the back of the shadowbox with hot glue to prevent the entrance of pests.
It appears to work ok unless I need to open the box (in case a bug falls off)... and the hot glue is makes it really hard to get the back off!
Any suggestions about a good method to seal the back of frames against pests that might be easier to remove?
I am experimenting with packing tape, but want to hear your thoughts.
Thank you.

Try hot glue. It can seal yet allows you to peel it off if needed.
