Thanks hewi. I think my problem is that they have not gotten enough humidity and therefore dry out during winter

This was my attempt last year to breed this species. I caught a female and she laid 58 eggs. These small buggers hibernate as L2, which is a pain to overwinter. I ended up with 50 hibernating catepillars. Unfortunately ALL died during hibernation, but i thought i'd share some pics of the early stages atleast. This is the 3rd time i try to breed a species that hibernate as young catepillars, and all attempts has failed. I appriciate any tips on how to hibernate young catepillars if anyone else has experience with it, right now im doing something wrong, and i need to find some kind of different hibernation setup. I fed them with Rumex acetosa. Female feeding on honey water Eggs Newly hatched catepillar L2

Maybe an interessting update. The two pupae that did not hatch last year developed this year and hatched yesterday. So apparently these can hibernate 2 times, atleast in captivity. I kept the pupa in a paper cup with some bark pieces from trees outside on the balcony under roof the whole winter, same as last year.

I have nets from paradox, and are satisfied with those. i got the 1,40m aluminum telescopic, and then 3m and 5m carbonfiber handles. I have not used the 3m and 5m very much. but the 5m handle is quite heavy and not easy to manouver when fully extended. Jan, please check your PM

I went this november, in Poland, to a place i found S.pruni in the spring/early summer to look for eggs. i didn't find any S.pruni eggs, but i found T.betulae eggs. i Found 11 eggs in about 2,5h time(not too much). No macro pics so no real detail of the eggs, i will hopefully take some better macro pics of the eggs at a later time. Habitat Eggs

I think you should put separate categories for beetles and butterflies(and maybe a "other" category for the rest if you dont want too many specific categories). If you're interessted only in butterflies you dont want to have to scroll through lots of adds for beetles and vice versa. Also nice ripoff of the ebay logo, maybe try and be more creative? Other than that im sure sellers aswell as buyers will find it useful!

how long should you let the fruit ferment before its usable? are we talking a couple of days, 1 week or 4 weeks, etc?
