Looks like Oryctes rhinoceros. These are a pest of coconut trees i believe.

Yes, I agree , many of them I have found on Koh Tao in Thailand where are few coconut palms plantations remains. In some parts of Asia locals organize battles between males of this species as the entertainment .

I have two species in my collection and I mixed them up, but I confirmed with my wife ( who's from Laos ) and yes indeed it is X.gideon

In SE Asia Xylotrupes gideon is used for beetle fights, but the Maldives beetle looks like Oryctes rhinoceros to me, but I don't know if there could be a similar looking species in the Maldives.
