Greetings All,
I have just migrated over to here from InsectNet, where I also have the username of bandrow...
I am a professional entomologist working at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. My areas of expertise include the Cerambycidae on a global basis and Scarabaeoidea of the Nearctic region. I also work with scolytines - the bark beetles - as part of the invasive species screening work I do.
I am always willing to help in providing identifications of long-horned beetles and am interested as well in exchanging for species of Cerambycidae from all parts of the world. I am particularly looking for contacts in China for exchange of specimens...
Cheers! Bandrow

I recently found a beautiful caterpillar in my yard and i thought id jump on here to see if someone can help me identify it as i could find much online. Thanx! Looking forward to your replies x

Welcome demi, Please post a photo of the caterpillar in the Insect Identification section, and don't forget to mention there that it comes from Cyprus. If you have problems with posting photos please check the relevant threads in the Technical Issues section. Adam.

Thanks Nomad and Adam!
Not sure how I missed out on this forum for so long - I guess I just stuck to InsectNet out of habit, but I'll enjoy following both now...
Cheers! Bandrow

Hi John,
I did get it - thank you! I popped it into the freezer until I can get caught up at work, and then it's all about Sapelo beetles for a while!
Cheers! Bob

You are a new member here, please tell us more about you and your passion. It is a little tradition of this forum. Hi I am Carlos Rodriguez, I live in Rosarito Baja California a Coastal region of Mexico's north-west, this area has a semi-desert geography and climate is very dry most of the year. I work as an Electro-Mechanical engineer but I am alway facinated by insects and their biology, hope to learn a little more about this field. Regards

Good afternoon to one and all. My name is John, and I have had an interest in Natural History since I was a child. These days, I am mainly interested in captive rearing British butterflies, collecting aberrations, and experimenting with new spreading techniques. I look forward to contributing to this forum.
