My nephew has this bug project and i cannot seem to figure out what this is. Black with brown spots. Looks like it has brown eyes kinda like a fly's. Seems like it has wings. Pretty sure it has 8 legs but it may only be 6 and 2 like grabber arms. Any help is greatly appreciated. Have many more to come but it will only let me post 1 picture at a time. View AttachmentThat first one could be hemiptera perhaps an aquatic species.

Are those pins punched through the forewings? 😒 Not at all ideal. But each to their own i guess.

What about the eye spots on the mature larval stage? What do we think they represent?

HI All, I work on a cannabis farm in WA state and we found what appears to be a series of white eggs tucked under a very small blade of a plant leaf. The eggs (if that is indeed what they are) are white in color with a black dot in the center of each one. I'm hoping someone can identify what insect this is associated with. Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide. Hemiptera true bugs is my wild guess.

It seems there is no escape. I baked some bread today (as I avoid palm and other vegetable oils) using a bread mix. Later to find (to my disgust i might add) that the dry flower mix contains PALM OIL. How is that even possible? It seems an increasing amount of products have palm oil and not enough consumers care enough to selectively avoid it...

Are those long antennae? If so, not Diptera. Its quite small. If not so small i would say a moth who lost most scales...

Whenever I come across a gravid female luna or cecropia, I cannot help but raise them so that the next year I can have those wonderful beauties flying around the house. The cat freaks out. No matter how many times I see a wild luna even after having raised thousands, I am still in awe of the bright green and felt auburn accents. Theres something magical about newly emerged saturnids...

One of the nicest bowringi ive seen.
Captive females dont produce many eggs apparently. Therefore, bowringi remain scarce eventho they are bred.
