Jean-Marc thank you for your information on arion at Cocures in France. That looks an interesting female and race. However I do not think it is the high alpine obscura . Some specimens here. These and other specimens have locality data but I need up to date information on a locality to visit. The Valais seems good but which area. information needed please.

Not the most fantastic photo, but this is the top of a hill in the southern outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. I'm in the habit of staying at a nearby inn whenever we pass through Kampala, so I've visited this hill on a number of occasions. In addition to the great view of Lake Victoria (seen in the background), it features a number of different Charaxes species, which are fascinating to watch when hill-topping. In years past the hill was fairly wooded, but recently the trees and vegetation have been cleared (which is somewhat evident in the photo), and I wouldn't be surprised if the next time I return it is covered in condominiums.

This is just outside Nebobongo, Haut-Uele, DRC. Ok, so this particular spot wasn't so great for hunting... the ground was swampy, and the jungle a bit too dense... but nonetheless spectacular.
