When chasing for our beauties, travelling the world or the countryside for new discoveries, we sometimes found some pretty impressive places where the nature is breathtaking.
One of the most impressive places I have seen is this spot in the mountains of Sulawesi near Puncak Paolopo.
I have been there only once, in 2010, but I will remember it all my life. It was a perfect virgin forest, nature was protected because it was very "sloppy". So much, it was hard standing there. Some trees were more than 50 meters high, the birds were singing everywhere, the light was subtle, Delias rosenbergi and Delias benasu were flying in the canopy (impossible to catch them there), a mountain full of forest was standing in front of me... what a place !
And you where is your favorite collecting place ?

This is my favourite biotype picture. I call this the ' Butterfly Ridge ' of the Corsican mountains. So many special and beautiful butterflies were found here. We saw Papilio hospiton, Plebejus argus corsica, Argynnis paphia immaculata, Hipparchia neomiris and Coenonympha corinna. These island specials were joined by scores of Colias croceus, Lycaena phlaeas in the very dark form, C elastrina argiolus, Vanessa cardui, Kanetisa circe and a few Issoria lathonia with Argynnis pandora.
Gosh it was hot up here.
