Feeling quite fed up this morning. I do apologize if no one can see any of my images on this forum. The hosting company photobucket seem to have lost my images on my bucket account with them and thus all the hundreds of pictures that I have linked to my articles have vanished. This is not a free service for me, I pay them for extra hosting allowance and not to mention the time and effort it has taken me to add them here. I am always hearing that this is the Smart way to upload your images but at the moment not feeling very smart . Hopefully the American company will resolve this issue because I have not got the will power to upload them all again. I did try the hosting company imgur but the response way my images using them were taking ages to upload. There has been no response from photobucket regarding my emails.

Sorry to hear about this... that's truly frustrating. Hopefully, they'll get things sorted out in a timely manner.

Thanks So do I. This problem has not affected all photobucket users. I do not have a good feeling about this, I do hope they have not lost my entire library during their maintenance work and thus all my embedded images in this forum. This has happened to other photobucket users. I will not in the foreseeable be uploading any more images from any other host sites to the forum unless my lost images return. I hope that members have enjoyed reading the articles that I have produced for the forum, even though they now all lack any images. Still no word from the POOR customer support of photobucket!!

Hmm, I use Photobucket for hosting too. Just checked and mine are still there, so far. A few that I posted several days ago disappeared for awhile, but returned shortly afterward. I wonder how long they'll remain...

Managed to upload seven images and post them on this forum over the last half hour or so. Slow and frequent freezing meant closing and reopening the site (photobucket, that is)in order to do this. Definitely not my favourite site.

Maybe there are other good hosting websites. On Insecterra, they use servimg and it seems to work fine. Another solution would be to finance proboards hosting fees, but as I have received 2 donations (thanks a lot to them!) among 599 members, it doesn't seem sustainable. + photos appear very small and it is not pleasant at all.

I would like to add that some of these articles took me hours to write and research. photobucket for the moment only hopefully? has compromised all of them. Some of my posts now appear to be now incomprehensible. Anyway I am putting away my pen and heading out into the hills tomorrow for a nice walk in the countryside.

Your articles are always interesting and informative . I hope they can revert somehow the mistake or error which has been done, and all your hard work won't be lost. Paul

I'm sorry to hear this Peter, I did say though that this is the reason why I won't use these sites, as Adam and others may remember I had hundreds of photos on a similar site, paid for the extra space only for it to shut down and all my photo's vanished over night, as you know it's not a few hours work uploading hundreds of photo's and it's like a kick in the nether regions, you'll be very reluctant to try other sites if this issue doesn't get resolved, I certainly won't, it seems they come along, make their money and shut down.

I've just looked at a couple of your recent articles and all photo's are showing on my iPad, so either it's fixed or only visible on iOS they don't open up as a link but all photos are still there.

That is great news. I thought that they were all lost. I was not too bothered about losing my photobucket library, just the embedded images here. I have noticed that long after people post their pictures and articles, they are often accessed by interested people and thus we would like to retain the photos with the information as long as possible. Fingers crossed they are here to stay. Nothing showing in my photobucket library.
