This must be the ultimate tease for Delias enthusiasts; altitude only, but no location. No doubt the news will be broken in due course, but if it is a new taxon we'll probably have to wait for the paper to be published first. Glad to hear that you changed your mind about hanging up your net permanently. You know it makes sense! Adam.

A rare shot of a nectaring Delias carstensziana from the Snow Mountains of New Guinea at 3400m on a wild rhododendron.
I think it could be a female. Danny, what do you think ? If so it is really an excellent shot ! I have no female in collection...

I think it probably is...males of this species have very long pointed claspers, which isn't evident on the photo.

Something new and VERY exciting to be announced soon. "Indie" is back and has just returned from yey another amazing and intrepid adventure. As the saying goes, "one for the road". Thank God for that, Delias is going to be exciting again. Love the biotope tease.
