Here are some of my rarest and most special Delias . I have placed them together for others here not familiar with the genus for size comparison. I believe this group shows their remarkable beauty to good effect. Most here are found at high elevation in the mountains. Row one top to bottom. 1. female Delias alberti tetamba female - Mount Popomanaseu Guadalcanal -Solomons. 2.. Delias caliban satisbona. Mt Madawha. Goodenough Island. 3. Delias eximia male. 4. Delias eximia female recto. Both from Lelet Plateau New Ireland. Row two top to bottom. 1. male Delias alberti tetamba- same locality as female. 2. Delias messalina gerrittsi male -Schleinitz Mountains New Ireland. 3. Delias messalina vigasa female - Baining Mountains East New Britain. 4. Delias narses female- Baining Mountains East New Britian.

I am not a specialist about Delias, but they really look very nice ! The first presentation to me was made by Bernard Turlin years ago ...

I agree, and I think I know Bernard from the 60's. I made a small private exhibition at my parent's house at that time where I invited him and he came along. He was living in Madagascar at that time. Since them, we have been friends and He did helped me a lot within this strange world ... Thank you Bernard !

I met Bernard again at Juvisy this year and bought some Delias from his table.

Bernard and I have been good friends for 28 years now, yet we've never met in person. He's one of the best.

I believe the Bismarck Delias hold many of my favourite species. Here is a selection. The rarest specimen in this group is the very flight worn specimen of Delias brandti- I live in hope of one day procuring a better example for my collection. Row one top to Bottom 1. Delias bagoe male. 2. Delias bagoe female - both from the Schleinitz mtns New Ireland. 3. Delias totila male. 4. Delias totila female - both from the Baining Mountains of East New Britain. Row two top to Bottom. 1. & 2. Delias salvini males - East New Britain. 3. Delias mayrfoferi male- Baining Mountains of East New Britain. 4. Delias Brandti male March 2014. 1630 meters Mount Konokalang Hans Meyer Range of New Ireland.

I'm seriously wishing that Delias flew in Africa.
