Glad to see that the elusive fruhstorferi has become available!

Nice males Dave, these are actually coming from an area much further south than originally known to occur, they are much darker in the southern range than the specimens in the Tam Dao mountains, very easy to see from the underside that they are related to uemurai, cambodia and godfreyi and not louisa as originally thought, wouldn't be surprised if these are not assigned as a sub species at some point.
I've not set mine out yet, a job for the winter.
I've been sent a photo of Stichophthalma le ( originally Stichophthalma neumogeni le ) from Hainan Island, the underside of this is also like these only lighter, the recto surface also has the very large marginal chevron markings of fruhstorferi ( the thread on the Stichophthalma specimen on the postcard is le ), there are 3 species on Hainan, Stichophthalma le, howqua bowringgi and nourmahal chuni, I've been in touch with a taxonomist from China who is currently studying and collecting them in the field, he also sent me a photo of fruhstorferi from South Guangxi, only the underside.
We shall be chating more when he's back home in August, I'm hoping he can assist me in obtaining more Chinese specimens.

Thanks for all that information.. Would like to see photos of the species/subspecies from Hainan if you have any.. I visited there briefly in 2008..if only I'd known !!
