One good thing from this ... everyone now knows the difference between male and female Papilio antimachus thanks to Paul K's excellent observation. I have to admit that I didn't know this difference, as I have never examined a female closely before. I don't have one in my collection.
Hopefully butterfly dealers will now know how to tell whether the specimen the African seller is offering is really a female or not, and such scams can be stamped out.
Adam.

Indeed that's the use of the Insect Collectors' Forum : cooperation and knowledge sharing ! Good to see also that the seller has ended the auction : ebay

Those are 2 pairs currently offered from an African dealer.
If I have understood the lesson of this topic, they are in fact 4 males.
Am I right ?

They are only visible in spread specimens. The wings of these two females don't look as if they have been doctored, at least from the photo. Adam.

I am sure they are genuine females: have a look at the tip of the abdomen, which is orange, while the valvae of males are white-yellowish as remnant parts of the abdomen.

A+, Michel quite bad, unreliable (he has a lot of alias)... sometimes his pictures are not his pictures or sometimes it is old photos of things he has yet sold. and as usual with african dealer, asking advance money (with some surprise for having what you ordered). he doesn't really understand and answer "yes" to everything giving a long list of his custumer (even the scammed ones)

A+, Michel yes mygos, bad an unpleasant experiences with this guy (as many other collectors), and this is only a part of the story. I don't know how .it happens in other continents but in Africa, it is really difficult. for the photo itself, nothing to add and same advice as those yet written, the last two seems female

OK what about this female now on ebay ?
I would think the scissor artwork is not very symetrical. Looks like a cutted small male to me... Be careful
The ebay seller is honest but may have been trapped by an African seller.
