this is the female of the same breeding stock. origin is japan. as far as I know, tutanus is actually not a real subspecies but a morph of the japanese maackii.so maybe this stock got some tutanus morph heritage? thanks for advices. best regards felix Attachments:

The female looks identical to my tutanus so I would think it's a pretty safe bet that it is.

Yes, these are spring form of Papilio maackii tutanus as you say they are from from Japan, however tutanus is probably just a synonym of nominate maackii. There is not much difference between Japanese and mainland FE Asian Papilio maackii.
Good luck breeding these, you will find the summer generation looks very different. The best egg-laying plant is Phellodendron amurense, but they will also lay on Zanthoxylum.

Thank you for confirming my suggestion!
I achieved a pairing today. Several males hatched last days, every one unique in coloration.from green to blue in different mixes. I never had such a colorfull stock .
I have several Phellodendron and also, what I think is the best hostplant here in middle europe, Choysia ternata ( also suitable for dehaanii) So I hope the female will lay some eggs and I can select a nice strain. I still wait for one pupae to hatch and hope it will be a second female.
my best regards
