For those of you who never had the chance to visit the Deyrolle boutique in Paris Video in English, the images are enough to feel the atmosphere and the beauty of the place founded in 1831 !
PS : all protected mammals are legal and come from French zoos/circus.

Now that's one way cool video. Hard to believe it's been in business since 1831. Wish we had something like that over here in America. Has anyone ever shopped there? Are their prices reasonable?

Well, Deyrolle has become with time a very "trendy" shop for Parisian wealthy people and they are now selling some common Morpho (that you can buy on Ebay at 5 USD) at 100 USD in a nice box to people who are not entomologists but who are looking for some nice things to decorate their home. So I guess nearly no insect collectors buy things in Deyrolle today.
But we have many other entomological shops in Paris (Nature et Passion, Claude Nature, etc...) with interesting prices.

The BBC has just made a 9 mn reportage about Deyrolle boutique : www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04wv807 and his current owner : Louis-Albert de Broglie (a kind of modern Walter Rothschild : former banker reconverted in full time nature lover).
It is in English
