Hey everyone,
I've been lurking on this forum for some time now and thought I would join in the fun
My name is Artem, I live in Melbourne and have a small side business selling framed butterflies, moths, insects and arachnids. I also endeavour to sell papered specimens to those interested, although the market is quite small for this type of thing here. I started out in New Zealand and continue between both countries now, which creates many challenges!
I first became interested in butterflies as a teen, although I never really pursued this until a chance meeting last year in Chiang Mai. I made friends with a local seller at the night markets who showed me their 'factory' and allowed me to purchase some dried specimens, initially for myself. Shortly after I met Rob from Siam Butterfly Company who I still work with and he has taught me a huge amount about the industry.
I'm very green to this hobby, and generally all over the place with my interests. Anything shiny or with a long tail usually catches my attention!
I look forward to learning from everyone more experienced here on the forums and hopefully with time I may add something of value to the discussions
