I have just heard that my old friend the famous Japanese Lepidopterist Yasusuke Nishiyama died early this morning of cirrhosis.
This is very sad news. I will post more later.

Here are some photos of him from 2 March 2006 at Tad Xai, Thabok, Laos: With Khamboun SP, a famous Lao butterfly tour guide, some Lao butterflies have been named after him too: Adam.

Thank you Adam for sharing with nice photos of Mr. Nishiyama. He has been one of my "Butterfly Saints" since I was a teenager. Today I visited the hall where his body is preserved. His face seems peaceful. Definitely he fully lived his own life. He extensively visited various places chiefly in SE Asian countries. He published numerous books which are cherished among butterfly lovers all over the world.
Now I am too sad to describe his whole achievements properly.
Nishiyama-san, thank you very much for your kind encouragement.
