Hi all,
Does anyone know of any authentically documented montane/submontane Charaxes aubyni in the Shimba Hills? It’s found in the Teita Hills, but Shimba Hills are 90 miles away, low coastal hills barely topping 1000ft in a couple of places.
Between Teita and Shimba is uniform low savannah, with just two tiny relic submintane forests (Sagala, and Kasigau). I’d be interested in any checklist from Kasigau.
Also, does anyone know where I could get hold of these 1973/4 papers: Sevastopulo, D.G. (1973). The butterflies of the Shimba Hills. Entomologist’s Record and Journal of Variation 85: 263–266. Sevastopulo, D.G. (1974). The butterflies of the Shimba Hills. Entomologist’s Record and Journal of Variation 86: 18–23. Sevastopulo, D.G. (1974). The butterflies of the Shimba Hills. Entomologist’s Record and Journal of Variation 86: 131–136.
Thanks.
