Hello welcome im new here too. Well, about the various smells caused by this hobby. I remember the last time I visited one of the last stores in Barcelona of dismounted dry insects. And as soon as I entered, I went back to when I was little boy, and the way to preserve your collection and avoid pests that would eat your collection, was the essence of almond (it was called in Spain) placed in Sauvinet capsules, which consist of glass capsules with a built-in pin for nailing in the box, this liquid sublimated in the box protect your collection. Well, as soon as She opened the door , this super strong smell of evaporated preservative, dry insect bodys and a little rotten hugged you, and at that moment that mixture that made normal people vomit made me feel at home. Sure you get used and butterflies don't smell anything compared to beetles. As advice I would tell you to start with good entomological boxes, since this will avoid many odor problems, both bug and preservative you put.
