Hello, I just spread a lycanidea I bought a year ago from chipax, mexico but something happened to its wings and the colour has changed. Can i get it removed? How did this happen. Greets jens <img style="max-width:100%;" alt="" src=" ">

I think you may put some water on the wings or inject when relaxing specimen . I know by fact it happens to ornithoptera sp. they change green colour to brown and it is permanent . That was in case of my O. tithonus.

I just relaxed them on a moist sponge. I had 12 specimens in the same box without problem. I am sceptical if it would go away when it is dry. hmm we´ll see.

You can try dipping it in pure acetone, but I doubt you will fix it !

the problem came to the fact that the androconial patches (if it is ? or ?) took water and dissolved some chemical / water in the wings (for me no solution as the blue is a physical color and scale structure has been been destroyed)!
