Let's talk about my favorite Danaidae : Euploea. Euploea have a very calm and delicate flight and they love nectaring on flowers. They are common and easy to photography.
The following one is Euploea sylvester harrisii from Phi Phi island. It is a the same specimen, but as you can see, depending of the angle, this species can reflect some wonderful blue colours.
Hope you like it.

Very nice indeed. I've come to like Euploea quite a lot in the past few years.

This is Euploea sylvester harrisii. Euploea core from the peninsula is ssp graminifera and has large white submarginal spots on the forewings. Euploea core does not have the super blue sheen either.

Thanks a lot Adam for the correction. It seems I have made a mix in my Euploea pictures.

Euploea sylvester is one of my favourites, with the dark metallic blue sheen contrasting with the row of pale blue submarginal spots.

Fantastic picture and specimen. Indeed this is very common butterfly but to encounter fresh specimen for the pictures it is not an easy task .

Thanks Paul ! Taking a picture of the blue sheen, like my first picture, is not so easy too. I have taken about 100 pictures of him. He was a very patient model !

Yes it is not easy .To catch the blue sheen the wings must be at the right angle to the sun rays . Usually one of the wing only shine blue. No wonder it takes 100 pics to get one with both wings blue. Congrats and many thanks to your model
