This is not just an entomological book !! It is about some of the Natural History Treasures held by the Museum. It does not review the insect collections as such, is a general Natural History title but if you want to read about the history of the museum, about is its founder Hope, the first set butterfly specimen in the world, the work of Maria Sibylla Merian = Insects of Suriname. The Aurelian, Jones Icones, Wallace's Giant Bee, Westwood's Giant flea, the Goodenough Swallowtail, Inflated caterpillars, Thomas Vernon Wollaston and others with an entomological bent, its the book for you, all the natural history subjects are a fascinating read and the photos are high quality, one to enjoy during those cold winter nights huddled up to a roaring fire or in my case by a radiator.
