Hello everyone,i am Asmodeusa(nickname, not really name).
I am from taiwan and my english is poor. But still want to broaden my horizons.
So if you don't know what i talking about just come out.I will try to explain more.
I don't know if such a diary can be posted. If it is not suitable, i won't continue to post. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This diary is a two-day, one-night trip in June 2015.
Seeing the excavator placed on the roadside, it may be necessary to dig out the shovel.(Then sneak up and take a photo.
Only find Cordelia comes wilemaniella (Matsumura, 1929) at high altitudes
Take some sunset photos
When the sun goes down, I choose to spend the night in the hot spring area. But after I put down my luggage, I will continue to look for insects.
There are a lot of small toad on the side of the pond, and there are Waterscorpionses in the water. It’s like the “all-you-can-eat” restaurant.
Snail's sex party
Under the street lights near the hotel, there are some Dorcus titanus sika.
And some beetles were crushed by the car.
stick insect and tianniu attracted by the lights at the entrance of the hotel
When I returned to the hotel, it was already 3 o'clock. When I was in the hot spring, I fell asleep and then woke up. After the spirit, continue to travel.
I saw a tree blossoming along the road, and there were beetles flying around the flowers. So I tried to catch the beetle and then grabbed a lot of beetles.
Then I continued on the trail, a dung Beetle flew past me but I didn't catch it. At this time, I thought of there are some enema in my backpack. So I enema myself and use the dung to attract the dung Beetle. My ass has not cleaned up the beetle and flew over.
My ass has not been cleaned up, but the beetle has flown over. I can only show my ass and hit them down in a hurry. Before they got into the shit. There are two kinds of beetles flying over.In fact, there are a lot of flying, but I only have to catch a few individual.

Find some Allomyrina dichotomus and Trictenotoma formosana Kriesche, 1919 in the low-altitude mountains tree on my way home.
Just be happy as long as you travel.
Finally, remember that the garbage is going to take home, do not throw it in the mountains.
Thanks for watching

Thanks for this nice collecting report ! A large variety of beautiful insects including some very impressive ones ! Congrats !
That's what entomology is all about : going into the field and looking for nice insects !
Your post is perfect, I would have just written a clearer title like : "Insect collecting in Taiwan"

This diary is a two-day, one-night trip in June 2015.
I took a motorcycle from my house to this side for about 2 hours. The butt is very painful... In fact, the altitude is only 800 meters.
The snake that is in the middle of the road, I can only move it to the side of the road to avoid being squashed.
This sweetheart will make you very painful. slug caterpillar moth larva
This tree always can see Allomyrina dichotomus and Trictenotoma formosana Kriesche, 1919 on top in June.
Beetles are mating
Pyrops watanabei Matsumura, 1913 eggs.
Every time I come here, I will go down the river and play with water, for relieve summer heat.
Although the temperature is hot, the water is very cold.>.,<
The big snake was squashed on the road, and the person in the photo was 150cm tall (without the extension of the hand and the pole)
This is the target here. Anoplophora horsfieldi tonkinensis Because the skills are not so good, let 4 of them fly away.
Also caught the Rhipiceridae accidentally.
Go to another place the next day.
Go down the stream and see what insects are there. Blue with red, very eye-catching.
A lot of butterflies gather around the river to drink water together.
Only the wings left me to think of Batman's boomerang.
It’s suddenly raining a lot, but fortunately we have a car.
I thought I would not find the target after the rain. In the end I was lucky to find 3 of them. Epicopeia mencia mature Lavrae. After they have emerged, I can make specimens without defects.
Thanks for watching

This diary is in 2016/04/02 One of the goals of this year is the Dicranocephalus bourgoiniAlthough I don’t know where they are gathered, I decided to go up the mountain to find them. I took about 90 minutes to get to this place. The Dorcus titanus sika was stepped on by the climber... Continue walking and found another Dorcus titanus sika .This guy seems to have come out last summer. Large Mucuna macrocarpa on the roadside are blooming. Shake the tree with a tool and then the Acromantis japonica falls. I came to a place with some Fagaceae trees around. I have been looking for a while, still can't find the target, maybe the season is too early. Just as I was drinking at rest, this guy got out of the soil. Dicranocephalus bourgoiniThen I dialed the leaves nearby. Found another female. But the color is gray, not the same as the previous one. I only found this pair on this trip.Hope next time will be better. Thanks for watching

This diary is a three-day, two-night trip in May 2016.
It is about 3,500 m altitudel, I rode a 3.5-hour scooter to get here . The butt is very painful...
It always started to rain and fog after noon here. So I am wet all over
First arrive at the hotel to place luggage, then open the lights of the window to attract insects.
After waiting for the sun to go down, I decided to go to the streetlights near the hotel to find insects. I immediately found the first large Aegus laevicollis formosae .
This cicada hits my head before falling to the floor.
Another large Aegus laevicollis formosae was found under another street lamp.
At this time, two stag beetles that looked like more than 7.5 cm were flying. I grabbed one of them with a net, but the other one was unfortunately waved down the cliff. Both of them are Lucanus maculifemoratus taiwanus.
Some are female, first bring back to the hotel and then check.
Ultra mini Aegus laevicollis formosae ...
Another ultra-mini Aegus laevicollis formosae.
Lucanus maculifemoratus taiwanus female.
Another Lucanus maculifemoratus taiwanus female.
Small Dorcus miwai female.
Find the Coptolabrus nankototaijanus in the flower pot under the lamp.
This is a female.
Put together and take photos.
The balcony lights only have a lot of moths and stink bug.
The sun was very glaring the next morning. So I just hang out the laundry to dry.
I went to the trail to find some beetles.
Found the large Aegus laevicollis formosae in the side of the ditch
Take a break for lunch, big goose eggs.
Go back to the hotel to take a shower and wait for the day to darken.
The air is too good tonight. No rain and fog. You can even see the lights of the city in the distance.
There are only a few small beetles under the streetlights tonight. Spirobolus bungii !!
Only the scarab...
Green moth.
Protohermes grandis
After tidying up, put most of the beetles back to nature.
Only take these three.
On the way home, I saw the tree blossoming.
Just pick up the tool and try to catch something.
Capricorm-beetle.
Panorpa communis
Stick insect .
Go home.
After going down the mountain, the city is very hot.
Thank for watch.

I have done lots of research on different species of stag beetles and have gone to their habitats at the right times of the year and conditions, but unfortunately to no avail.
