It is legal to have CITES species without permit. Permit is only required to move the specimens between two countries. If for example you would buy CITES species from person in your country you wouldn’t have to have CITES permit at all. The CITES office do not issue permits to sell within the country. Paul PS This person really overuse “ no pest strip “.

Ah, that's good to know. Seems odd, because one can simply claim they bought specimens within the country even if they did not.
However, it states he ships worldwide, so wouldn't he need the CITES permits to sell outside the USA?
How can he prove he obtained them legally?
At any rate, the seller would not even respond to my questions until I low balled an offer. Then he was rude. I hope these go unsold. They have no data.
Yea, the no pest strips are hilarious! and I hope he doesn't plan on shipping those butterflies like that.

$2500 it seems much too high for those two drawers unless I’m missing something rare.

What an expensive mess. No thanks! You should jump on eBay and write that comment to the seller! It is a shame to think those specimens will probably end up hanging on someone's wall, exposed to UV light and dermestids.

Well, I agree with Paul regarding the permit stuff. To sell any of the Ornithoptera out of his country they all need paperwork. The Morpho's are just the usual common trash we have all seen time and again. A fair number of other sorted common fodder as well. The blue-green Priamus is badly stained in general (hopeless), the preparation is only "fair" at best (generally speaking). I see maybe 4 or 5 birdwings that look to be descent (and might pass muster with me) but, otherwise it all looks like somebody else's leavings. Good material for popping in riker mounts and selling. Not worth that asking price.

Common protected species without permits...
This guy should be arrested, especially for the disgusting mess that this drawer is.
