Dear forum members at the end of January I'm leaving to North Laos and North Thailand (also Chiang Mai). The main reason of my trip is do some scouting as next summer I will return to realize a documentary film for our museum and for the Italian Television. This time I will check places, situation, stories mainly based on arthropods before to return with the television crew. I'll appreciate very much your advices, good spots, facilities and person to visit. Even if I did travel quite a lot I haven't been before in Laos, whereas I've be different time in Thailand but only once in Chiang Mai long time ago.

I have been to Chiang Mai area.
Outside the national parks, the nature seemed to me much damaged. National Parks are wide and it would be interesting Adam if you can tell us where the most interesting spots inside these Parks are.
Chiang Mai is a special place for me, as it is where I have asked my wife in marriage.

Chiang Mai is a special place for me, as it is where I have asked my wife in marriage. I understood that the Maid has agreed to become Mrs. ... And may I learn in what place in Chiang Mai happened a so romantic event ? A hotel? A public park? a boat on the river? a candlelight dinner? a filled cage with Pieridae?

It was in a nice hotel in BoSang, a little village not far from ChiangMai during the New Year Eve.

Under a paper umbrella? BoSang is famous for its decorative paper umbrella factories.
Do bring your wife back to Chiang Mai again one day, so we can meet then.
Adam.

Indeed BoSang is a lovely place for decorative materials.
As you guys are very curious, it was in a nice hotel named "Secret Garden". The owner is a Brit married with a Thai, they were very welcoming and as you can see "butterfly net friendly". I recommend this hotel for people staying in Chiang Mai.
Adam, we will have to organize this one day, it will be a pleasure !

And last but not least, inside the garden of the "Secret Garden Hotel", flies in great number Delias hyparete indica, a not so uncommon Delias but, anyway, a Delias !!! Delias Butterfly thank you for having so elegantly contribute to the romantic atmosphere of the place ... !

Probably also Delias descombesi can be found there during the winter season.
