This European peacock butterfly was in my home from 4th jan untill 1 feb 2017..i preciated her time with me.

That would be a hibernating butterfly that became active through the warmth of your house, outside in Holland and the UK they will be fast asleep but will awaken on warm days in the Spring to produce the next generation that will be appear in the summer before going into hibernation, here they have found a resting place by September for their long sleep.
