Hi, I came across this beetle last summer in Sichuan, China. It is the first stag beetle that I've seen in the wild, so I was pretty delighted. Someone who is very knowledgeable about insects in China identified it as likely Lucanus maculifemoratus ssp. boileaui. I'd be grateful if anybody could confirm or correct this. Thanks Ed
