Any idea abou the exact species? Thanks! Junonia orithya- female. The subspecies madagascaiensis is found throughout mainland Africa and Madagascar, whereas other subspecies are found in other areas such as Saudi Arabia. Where does yours come from?

Yes, it is here in Chiang Mai and I have seen it in Laos, it tends to prefer drier open grassy areas.
