I was thinking Belenois creona severina, but I haven't seen any with markings in the cells of the HWs. Could be B. zochalia or ... well, I'm not certain! Any help IDing is appreciated as always. Caught 21/VIII/2014 Lubowa Estates, Kampala, Uganda

Tom, I am not a Pieridae specialist, but from my d'Abrera "Butterflies of afrotropical region, part I, 2° edition" it looks like Belenois zochalia agrippines female, where females are said to be variable.

A+, Michel That's what I have been leaning towards myself. Unfortunately, this is the only specimen I've caught like this, so with female Belenois being so variable, it makes IDing a lot more difficult...

Looks like B crawshayi female to me. But I am better in Asian Pieridae than African ones.

Looks like B crawshayi female to me. But I am better in Asian Pieridae than African ones. On the other forum Thierry has said the same. I've read that the difference between B. crawshayi and B. zochalia is that B. crawshayi has a dot at the end of the FW cell, whereas this marking forms a bar in B. zochalia... but in many Belenois species this particular marking varies quite a bit, so... yeah, what leads you to conclude it's B. crawshayi?
