Dear forum, This beetle was part of my former collection. It was caught on october 2000 in Lesotho (southern Africa). The diversity of "monkey beetles" in South Africa is atonishing anf for that the ID are usually difficult. But I didn't lost all hope... After a hard search, I've concluded that this beetle belongs to genus Eriesthis. But it's a very big genus. In a paper that I've found about Drakensberg Mountain (where this specimen was caught) are mentioned the number of registered species of Hopliinae that are very few compared with other regions of southern Africa. But is not mentioned which species. In a complete list of all the species of Eriesthis are mentioned Eriesthis drakensbergensis, with a very suggesting scientific name that fit well with the location, but there are zero info or images of this species on the net and, finally, I don't know how to identify correctly my specimen. Any help, please? Thanks!
