These days in France, we had some snow storms and in Paris it's cold, rainy and windy. So, it's actually the good weather to dream about Delias pasithoe ! Please, Adam, keep one or two samples from your garden for my next visit in Chiang Mai, soon I hope. In the alley where I live in Paris (it's a bit like a garden), a sample of Vanessa atalanta moved behind a window for winter shelter. Wintering or not, the butterfly is dead but remains clearly visible since two or three months. Not so glamour than D. pasithoe fluttering between orchids and bromelias !

And last but not least, inside the garden of the "Secret Garden Hotel", flies in great number Delias hyparete indica, a not so uncommon Delias but, anyway, a Delias !!! Delias Butterfly thank you for having so elegantly contribute to the romantic atmosphere of the place ... !

The first one is : Arctiidae, Parasemia plantaginis (Linnaeus, 1758), f. hospita. Form hospita is the mountain form. And the second (red and brown moth) is : Arctiidae : Tyria jacobaeae (Linnaeus, 1758).

Chiang Mai is a special place for me, as it is where I have asked my wife in marriage. I understood that the Maid has agreed to become Mrs. ... And may I learn in what place in Chiang Mai happened a so romantic event ? A hotel? A public park? a boat on the river? a candlelight dinner? a filled cage with Pieridae?

Right ! This is typo mistake. Sorry ! My friend Jacques Ouvaroff use to go to Kirgyszistan (Moldo Tau Range, mainly) each year (July) joining the Sergei Churkin team. End of September, when Sergei comes to Paris (Juvisy Fair), we organize a great dinner to talk entomology and news from the field ! Emmanuel Zinszner also goes each year to Tian Shan Range. The last time the two teams met by chance in a charltonius biotope in Alai or Transalai (I do not remember exactly where!).
