The new book 'The Winged Wonders' is about Finnish Professor Kauri Mikkola's expeditions to Siberia and North America - to taiga and mountains, the Altai steppe and spruce forests of the Baikal, the Ottawa wetlands, Colorado mountains and the Yukon wilderness. The author's colourful writing takes you to beautiful scenery in the company of several nature specialists.
Pemberley add " The richly illustrated work reveals the secrets of butterflies, moths and birds in mountainous and boreal regions, tells stories of survival in different cultures, and introduces you to top entomologists from the USA, Canada and Russia. The book is a unique expedition in itself, taking you to regions that only a few have visited".
Looks a good read especially for those that are interested in field expeditions.
