Carabus auronitens is a splendid Carabidae from Western Europe. It is rather common and highly searched by collectors due to its fantastic variations.
Typical auronitens are green and copper. But some rare variations can be totally blue, totally red, totally violet and so on. Carabus has no wings, this explain that some isolated populations from one specific wood can develop some very diverse patterns with time.
