An associate of ours is looking for an additional (preferably UK based) member of an African field expedition:
The expedition targets Lepidoptera and Coleoptera, and is expected to be quite intense, for about 3-4 weeks probably in mid-2016. Legal permits and export licences are in place.
The target individual will be a skilled entomologist and a reliable, experienced and a competent member of a difficult expedition; this is NOT a training or development opportunity.

Essential characteristics
Proven tropical natural history fieldwork experience including light trapping/ entomological trapping
Proven experience and ability at catching/ collecting Lepidoptera and Coleoptera
Ability to field-preserve and rough-identify Lepidoptera, including microlepidoptera
Ability/ willingness to work in a small team, in difficult surroundings away from comforts and regular communications for periods of up to a month
Willingness to work hard toward furtherance of the understanding of entomology
Willingness to work on behalf of other organisations (i.e. no or limited conflict of interest concerning deposition of specimens collected).
Desirable characteristics
Ability to drive 4-wheel drive. International drivers' licence.
Ability and experience of servicing generators
Additional Languages: (French, Portuguese etc)
First Aid/ survival skills
