Some Asian Lycaenidae, the Pierrots, are wonderful Polyommatinae. I already posted some pictures from Thai ones on the ICF. This is a very striking Indian one : Talicada nyseus

This species also occurs in Thailand, but I have seen it very rarely. I seem to remember that the Thai subspecies is not as striking as the Indian one.

By the way, if you come across habitat with lots of Discolampa and Caleta that is a good indicator that you have found a super butterfly habitat.

About 20 years ago somebody was selling pupae of this species at one of the bug shows in England. As it was such a lovely looking little thing I bought a dozen and found it very easy to rear. It feeds on Kalanchoe which is easy to find in garden centres as it's a popular houseplant. I managed to keep it going indoors for four or five generations. It was a delight to see a cage full of them flitting about outside on a summer's day.

Wow, absolutely stunning species ! I'm sure seldom seen in most private collections.
