I am afraid that poor Poppy is going to be banned from one well known butterfly website and has no place in our society.

" a welcome boost for conservationists " what the hell did they have to do with it, it came across on its own and bred here thanks to "global warming" which they're trying to stop, it does make a refreshing change though to see a newspaper report about welcome migrants from France crossing the channel, I don't mind this one settling and breeding like flies, these don't take my tax dollars ( well pounds ). Was there no signs of the polyxenes this year after that female was spotted last year laying eggs?

Yes, a few Papilio machaon gorganus arrived here again this year but I am not sure that any bred . It has been a transitory resident before in the 19th century in Kent and Dorset.

Polyxenes must have been a captive release. I have not heard of any sightings.
