Dear trehopr1, thank you once again for your kind words. Being not a good photographer and lacking some smart sophisticated hard- and software, I have to wait for proper illumination (indirect sunlight; daylight) in my room to make a satisfactory photo. So, I'll surely post paradisea, arfakensis, and meridionalis photos as soon as I find them or, in case of their absence, re-make them... You have them in cabinet or on wall ?

I don't have anything on the walls except icons and paintings. Even if you manage to save your specimens from direct sunlight, their color will change after time, which I HATE... So, I tend not to put any of my collection drawers on the wall, keeping them in a cabinet. (BTW, I can not see any magellanus and prattorum photos, which may be due to my ancient PC and software)...

Troides prattorum is one of my favourite birdwing and it is endemic species found only on Buru Island in Indonesia.

Thanks for consultation, Paul K, I just said I can see neither magellanus nor prattorum... I posted only 2 drawers and not separate pictures of T.p and T.m that is why you can not see them . Paul

A magnificent drawer sensedigger of paradisea + meridionalis ! Just beautiful. Some observations of note while perusing your photo are the following: both of your detanii males have beautiful long eyelash-like tails (awesome). Is that a character unique to that ssp. OR do you just happen to have 2 specimens with very well developed tails? Also, your one arfakensis male 3rd column + 3rd down is especially orange overall. Would that be considered an abberation? And lastly, can you perhaps tell me what makes chrysanthemum unique as a ssp.? I understand it may be a localized ssp. found in one unique area but what obvious characters are present? It just looks like it lacks the overall golden color of arfakensis and its black is more restricted. I'm not as well versed in the little details of these things as some members are....
Your meridionalis male also seems to have quite a bit more yellow present in the forewings than I have seen before. Is it something of an abb.?
A super drawer throughout just like your Victoria's.... Thank You for fulfilling my request !

A nice selection of Troides Paul K ! Nice to see some of the variety present among these black + yellow fellows.... Unfortunate this genus never really "grabs" collectors attention like all the "High-Impact " colors of the other Birdwing genera.

You are welcome, trehopr1! My pleasure...
Actually, I don't think these detanii males are really something special or extraordinary: just regular... And as for that arfakensis male - well, yes, it is somewhat generally "darker" than the other two you can see in the drawer. But should it be viewed as an aberration? Regarding paradisea chrysanthemum, have you seen a female of the ssp. (which I lack - it has deep yellow coloration on its HW and looks absolutely different from other ssp.s)? However in all, I can't say I am a "paradisea specialist" and I'm sure there are real experts here who can give you exhaustive grounds for the ssp.'s existence... And finally, meridionalis: that yellow streak in the FW could have resulted from the flash I used when taking the photo, I think, although it does show even when you simply look at the specimen in the daylight.
