Hi all,
Many apologies for the naive question, but it's not really my area of research/study. Just wondered if anybody knew if Saturnia pavonia males are capable of multiple copulations/fertilisations in order to produce viable ova? I'm rearing some of these for my kids and the local school and my recently eclosed females, of course attracted some wild males. I caught and caged the males and immediately achieved two pairings, but have more to females yet to follow/eclose. I therefore wondered if it was worth keeping the males for further copulations, or not? Any advice kindly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Mark
