Hi everyone,
I am Phan Quoc Toan, an entomological researcher from the Duy Tan University, Vietnam. Today I am writing this letter to give you a wonderful opportunity to have name after one one most beautiful and hugest dragonfly in the world. Last year I discovered a new species of the genus Chlorogomphus (Chlorogomphidae) from the Central Vietnam. This is a huge dragonfly with wingspan about 140 mm, male hyaline wings but its female possess stunning beautiful wings, remarkably by tinged dark golden yellowish pattern (please contact me to see photos of this species).
I nearly finish the draft of manuscript of description of this new species, but till have not name it. That the reason why I am writing this post to looking for someone who could support my team field trips next year. I will spend this amount to pay transportation, accommodation, administrative free and other fees of my teams (I and three other students) during field trip, not for my own personal consumption expenditure.
The benefit of the supporters are:
- your name will be named after such beautiful Chlorogomphus sp. nov.
- you can keep an paratype male (sorry I have only one female paratype, but I promise to share you another one if more specimens available in my collection in the future).
- if I can find another new species during the trip under your supports, I promise to name it after your name again (or your family, if you want).
For this beautiful species only, I hope to get an amount about 4,000$ for conducting some trips in some protected forest in Vietnam. All my publications are presented in the following website (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Phan_Quoc_Toan2/publications) or in the Duy Tan University (http://ird.duytan.edu.vn/molbio/gioi-thieu/co-cau-to-chuc/can-bo/phan-quoc-toan/). Up to now, I am the author of 22 new species from Vietnam, Laos and Malaysia, so I do not have any difficulty with communication, or with finding and using relevant scientific papers written in English to identify and describe new species. If you are interesting, please do not hesitate to contact me via email pqtoan84@gmail.com.
I intend to submit this manuscript in an international jounal in March 2020. I am not sure when the study will publish online on the journal due to the peer-review process. This peer-reviewed process is usually require about 6-7 months and your species is probably published at the end of this year.
Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues and associates. Looking forward to email from you. Thank you very much.
Best wishes,
Toan,
