Hey, friend of mine saw this the other day and sent me a picture. I tried googling but couldn't find anything Any idea what insect this is? (Southern US area)

Hi, it's a mayfly (order Ephemeroptera), a female full of eggs that has drowned and released the eggs into the water (their nymphs are aquatic). No idea of the species, a similar pale, milky-winged and thick-bodied one in Europe is Ephoron virgo, that only lives some hours and dies in this way for reproduce. Maybe is a related species.
