I think that given the quantity and relation is better to merge all them in a single thread. All these hawk moths are in a single folder exhibited at Boston Museum of Sciences. None of them have labels, or to be more precise, the label include only a reference numbrer/symbol for the collection, but nothing about locality. So they can be from anywhere in the world. However I hope that they can be identified to species. 1. Smerinthus/Paonis? 2. Medium sized 3. Fairly small 4. Very big 5. Hippotion-like? 6. Aellopos? 7. Somewhat related with Proserpinus? 8. Last one, also small (Macroglossum-sized)

X. tersa flies in the USA too - common in FL and GA, probably goes much further north. jh

I add another one: The only part that I understand in the label is "Rancho Grande", that can be probably more than 20 different places in the world...

The bottom line says VEN ..... A, so maybe it is from Venezuela.

It is Agrius cingulata, it occurs in South, central and souther north America. It is very possible it was collected in Venezuela. I found this species in French Guiana.
