As long as you're sure they've paired and haven't already laid their eggs, just sleeve them on a growing tree and feed them well (sugar solution should be fine). It can help to provide them with a bit of shelter so they can hide in a darker area of the cage if they want to.

I've always used a small potted tree, completely sleeved over. I don't know if cut twigs would work - try it and see... I have used that technique for some hairstreaks with some success.
If you do get an egg batch I would think it would be difficult to look after the small larvae without growing food.

I've not tried temperature experiments myself, although I know people who have.
