Hi guys, as I'v mentioned in previous thread, Im planning a trip to Kenya and would like to collect butterflies. I need to know to which equipment should I invest in, Im intterested in Charaxes, Pappilionidae. Not sure, wether as a beginner to focuse on both. My English is not very well yet, so please excuse me for that. If possible, you can sent me a links for stuff to buy for a trip, at least the most essential equipment I will need. Many thanks in advance

You would need good collapsible net ( I am sure you need permit to collect in Kenya ) and a lot of urine ( bait ) for Papilionidae and as much as possible stinky rotten fish or crab sauce for Charaxes. Also a local guide who will be helping you to stay out of trouble.
Practice at home how to use as quick as possible collapsible net. Do not wander around with open net! Sadly nova days it is advisable everywhere.

No...big, fat net is uncomfortable to walk with And don’t forget to have a nice big camera in case you want to take some photos...mimicry, this apparatus must be exposed at all time.
