I’m in the middle of spreading two butterflies, but I can’t seem to identify one of them. The wingspan of said butterfly is 2 1/2 inches, and the main color is light-ish brown with five dark brown spots running down the edge of each forewing (third spot going down is the second smallest, and the front spot is extremely tiny) There are four spots with sand colored rings on each hind wing. There are faint patches of sandy white at the very front of the forewings. There is also a light-ish brown border at the very edge of all wings. I have captured this butterfly at Crockett, TX, and I caught it earlier in October this year. I cannot find this butterfly in any of my guides.

Photo please, without photo your description points to family Nymphalidae, subfamily Satyrinae but I don’t think anyone can identify to species.

For some reason, I cannot put in a photo. Maybe when the butterfly dries I can take a picture and post it on the internet and send a link.

Thank you for the subspecies name. It will at least give me an idea of what the butterfly is, and I can research from there.
