It appears to be a bee, we have similar looking bees here in Chiang Mai. They are quite often attracted to lights at night. While they can sting they are not aggressive, and will fly away in the morning if they can get out.
Adam.

Flies (Diptera), are easy to distinguish from all other orders in that they possess only one pair of wings. A second pair of modified organs called "halters" are located behind the flying wings and act as balancers in flight. The order name Diptera literally means "two wings". Di meaning two; and ptera meaning wings. As you can see in your photograph your species of bee clearly has 2 pairs of wings present.

For more precision: it's a honeybee (Apis mellifera), that is undoubtely the best known species of bee.
