Sorry for no pic but the little things are proving difficult to catch. That being said, I was mowing grass the other day and I hit a certain spot in my yard at which point I had bugs swarming me. Given that last year when this happened I got stung twice by blue and black wasps, I left the area. It’s been 4 days since and they have not stopped flying around the area. I thought they could be wasps but I got a close look at two of them today and the shape of the body is more narrow than a stink bug and longer but all the features look just like a stink bug with these exceptions; It’s blue and black in collar. The wings extend past the body. Where they extend beyond the body the wings are transparent but dark like a tinted window. If I can catch one, I will upload a pic but does anyone have a clue what this might be?

Without an approximate location in the WORLD it is impossible for anyone to advise.

Well, I don't really know. Maybe an assassin bug like Melanolestes? Are they going into the ground? How many are there?
Does anyone know if assassin bugs ever live in large groups?
