Hi all am new to this site, was hoping you could help identify this beetle and if it is woodboring. We live in NYC, and have wooden parquet flooring on the 3rd floor. We have recently found tiny holes/tunnels and pockmarks in our wooden floors, unsure if it is an active infestation. Any help would greatly enhance our treatment of the problem. Thanks

Not a beetle, not a woodborer. Looks like a small isopod. Not a worry.

Woodlouse (Oniscomorpha), the terrestrial branch of the Isopods (most isopods are marine, as the crustaceans that they are). They don't feed on wood (unless it's absolutely rotten and wet). They feed on organic matter, mainly dead leaves and humid plant frass, also carrion and whatever. They're great descomposers that allows the gardens and woods to be green and recycling nutrients.
