Nepidae possibly Ranatra sp. Its a waterscorpion. Its tail is used to breathe i tginks rather than sting. Watch out for its mouth or proboscis tho as it might be able to sting. Im not exactly sure on that.

Ciervo's reply was more or less correct :-)It's a water scorpion, family Nepidae. Certainly not a Ranatra that are completely different, with a much more slender and elongated body. This is a Nepa sp. or a Laccotrephes sp, obviously the location usually is completely necessary for any insect (or any other nature thing) identification. The "tail" is used for breathe only (they're aquatic insects, and use it for reach the surface while being submerged, like a snorkel), while the front legs can pierce (with not much strenght) and the mouth can sting (tough I caught many with my hands and never get biten).
