Thirty years ago the price was $15000 per specimen so the price has dropped. They are offered to me every time I’m in Solomons. More ranching and breeding is being established so expect them to become more common

Yes Peter there are many in collection, but this one is the blue form from Malaita which is much rarer in coll, and much more beautiful.
Anyway, no CITES permits from Solomons today, buyers beware...

Hmmm... seems someone has champagne taste, deep pockets, and poor eyesight to match! It's a pity what a "too wet" or "too humid" a relaxer can do to an iridescent butterfly.

Wow that is a fantastic collection of Ornithoptera allotei. All the more special seen together. You must be very pleased with that drawer. Thank you for sharing these. Certainly does brighten up a cold winter day here in the UK
